En-Route - Sentinel Peak / Witsieshoek area
Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge

The recently renovated Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge is the place to overnight. At 2,220 m above sea level, Witsieshoek is the highest lodge in the Northern Drakensberg and is the perfect place to rest those weary legs on the X-Berg Challenge. Accommodation options are in the hikers cabin, bungalows or chalets.

When choosing to make use of Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge, you are supporting a good cause, the local Batlokoa Community. We arranged special permission for the X-Berg Challenge to access the land as part of the 2016 event. This kind permission was granted by Transfrontier Park Destinations (TFPD), who manages the lodge in conjunction with the local community. We encourage all X-Berg Challenge competitors and supporters to go and experience Witsieshoek!
